VibeSlide is a screensaver for college students that makes it easy to build a consensus about photos or messages (VibeSlides if you will). Launched from a living room in La Jolla in August of 2006 (the Founder has lived in living room since September of 2005), VibeSlide makes providing and obtaining feedback simple, easy, and fun.
VibeSlide has grown to two users (currently the Founder and his mother), and according to comScore, ranks as one the 7th least trafficked site in the United States. We're focused on university specific communities, so people with a valid address from a supported college may register for VibeSlide and easily send, subscribe, and rate VibeSlides.
VibeSlide is owned by KeenScreen Inc., established in March 2006. KeenScreen was founded by 22 year old David Parkinson. Prior to KeenScreen, David was an intern at Microsoft Corporation. Prior to working for Bill Gates, David founded StarvingCollegeStudents.com, a philanthropy targeting middle-aged women. Prior to SCS, David won an business plan competition at Kansas University, taking their $1,000 seed investment to $26,000 revenue/year with over 100,000 cell phone accessories sold with ChaseToys.com (in high-school), a company he subsequently sold. Prior to ChaseToys.com, David had an Internet eBay business making $6000 profit within one year (in high school). Prior to the eBay thing, David founded D&D Curb Painting in 7th grade in his home-town, Lawrence, Kansas; he and his three employees knocking on random people's doors asking for $15 to paint house numbers on curbs. Prior to D&D Curb Painting, David formed the Stinky Pinky Club in 6th grade, a network marketing company that the 6th grade teachers subsequently shut down. Prior to the Stinky Pinky Club, David sold snacks his mother sent him at Boy Scout Camp. David graduated from UCSD in March 2006 with a BS in Computer Science.
VibeSlide appreciates its partners. A new startup faces a countless number of legal issues. Morrison & Forester, a top-tier law firm both here in San Diego, as well as around the world have been nothing short of amazing, to say the least. If you are looking for a firm that understands the plight of a startup, and will work with you every step of the way, look no further than the fine folks at MoFo.
VibeSlide appreciates its supporters. Amazing special thanks go out to Jonathan Holborn as well as Benjamin Tauber for their insights and amazing help. Thank you guys!
